As the grandson of the late Tin Pan Alley, Hall-of-Fame songwriter Sunny Skylar, Shay’s draw to music was inevitable. A university graduate in Music and Music Technology, Shay has a passion for reviving the presence of musical instruments in modern music culture. Nominated for “Best Americana Song” in the 2021 San Diego Music Awards. Shay Skylar’s original songs are a unique fusion of modern rock with a hint of acoustic and pop music aspects. Shay writes, records, produces, mixes, and promotes all of his own music, showcasing his versatility by playing a wide range of instruments, including electric and acoustic guitar, bass guitar, drums, piano, keyboard, lap steel, and mandolin, among others.
